NEW BOOKS by KELLEY HECKART
I am very excited to announce that I have two new books published
with Awe-Struck.

WHITE ROSE OF AVALON will be released in November 2007.

RAVENWOLF is available now!

Below are blurbs and excerpts from both books.
White Rose of Avalon is a sensual Celtic fantasy romance focusing on
the romances of the Arthurian Legends. With the land falling into
Saxon hands, the Christian monks make a pact with Morgaine, Queen
of the Faeries. She promises to give them a High King who will unite
the Britons against the Saxons if he takes a queen from the faery
realm. She hopes this will restore the Goddess faith, bringing Avalon
back to its rightful place and not hidden within the mists.

Morgaine’s lover, Lancelot, is sent to guard the future High King,
Artorius. The Saxons are driven back by Artorius’ army and his
kingdom reigns until he weds Gwenhwyfar. A love potion meant for
Artorius and Gwenhwyfar falls into the wrong hands, sending the
kingdom into ruins. Gwenhwyfar is the only hope for the future, but
betrayal, revenge and forbidden love surround her, threatening to
destroy the lives of four people.
Excerpt from WHITE ROSE OF AVALON:

The warm spring day sang of new love and the promise of peace
under the reign of the High King, Artorius. Lancelot tried to focus his
thoughts on that and not on his own troubles. Morgaine had no time
for him now because of the pending ceremony and he was left to fend
for himself. He strolled through the meadow, enjoying the warmth of
spring. A blond maiden stood in the meadow staring off into the
distance. He had never seen her before.

She turned to him with eyes alight with wonder. “Are you the one?”

“The one?” Her fair beauty enchanted him and her sweet smile
melted his heart. He wanted to reach out and run his fingers through
her silky blond curls.

“My future husband, the High King of Britain.” Her lips were so red he
could taste their sweetness.

His heart sank. She thought he was Artorius. “You must be
Gwenhwyfar. I am Lancelot. And not your husband, my lady.”

“Oh. You look like a king.” She seemed disappointed. Her innocence
was very becoming.

“I must be going now, my lady. It is a pleasure to have met you.” He
took her hand and kissed the top of her delicate hand. Her skin was
as soft and white as a white rose petal. Something akin to an electric
shock passed between them. Her eyes widened and her cheeks
blushed to pink.

He turned and left before anything else could be said. What was he
thinking? Gwenhwyfar belonged to Artorius, his king and brother. And
he loved Morgaine.

RAVENWOLF is a sequel to OF WATER AND DRAGONS and the second
book in my Celtic Mythology Series.

RAVENWOLF takes the reader on a journey to an ancient land filled
with spiteful goddesses who threaten to tear Ambiorix and Nemu
apart. Can their love survive?
Excerpt from RAVENWOLF:

The Raven Women surrounded the stone fortress, imprisoning me.  I
realized that this was the place I had dreamed of.  Somewhere nearby
though was the land of my mother’s people and the place of their final
entombment.  A silent tear rolled down my cheek as I thought of the
fate of my mother.

Dark stone monoliths jutted out in the distance from the mist-filled
water.  I watched the sun fall beneath cloud-strewn skies, creating a
burst of pink and purple.  It should have been a glorious sight to me,
but instead of white clouds colored pink and purple, I saw white
wings covered in shadow and stained with innocent blood.

Wrapped in large black wings, The Raven Women silently guarded
me.  I barely glanced at them because I knew I would be ignored.
Their presence was oddly comforting to me though.

There was a lot I still did not understand, but this I knew—
Mine is the
dark face of night, the silver moon my only true friend.  Solitude is all I
have ever known and will ever know.  This I have come to accept as I
accept that the sun rises each morning and sets each night in a fiery
ball of glory.  My only regret is that I should have realized this much
sooner…before love.

It is strange how life can change in an instant.  Perhaps I should have
heeded my dreams, listened to my inner voice.  But I have learned
that life does not always go the way it was planned.  No wonder
mortals were so tormented.  Of course, the Romans had again played
a role in destroying my peaceful existence.  But I feared that I was to
blame for that.  My thoughts whispered to me that there was more for
me to learn about my past.  By allowing the dark one to bring me here,
lost memories had rushed back and I was not the same person I was
before.  A prisoner, I was alone again, and maybe that was my true
destiny.  I wanted to place the blame on others, but the truth was, I
made my own choices.  I could not change what I was.  I was foolish to
believe it could be done.  Maybe I was not meant to live as a human
among human beings.  And I have learned a secret that has changed
me forever.  My eyes filled with tears at the memory of what I was and
would always be.

What have I done?
